April Fool's Day! remote learning lessons

Dear First Graders,

      Good morning. Happy Wednesday. Happy April Fool's Day! Thank you for working so hard on your remote lessons yesterday. I enjoyed all the pictures that you sent me of your hard work. Please know that I do appreciate all of the hard work and effort that you have put in these past 2 days. Please thank all of your moms and dads for their help, too. 
      I'm not sure if any of you are having trouble logging in to IXL with your username (like one of your classmates was). If you are, put '@centerdrive' after your username and see if that helps.

Writing- Write about what your plant needs to survive. Write about its habitat. How much water and
sun does it need? Does it like the cold or the hot weather? Where in the world would your
plant be found?

Math- Find 20 things from around your house and sort them by:

- length

- weight

Dear First Graders,
  
    Good morning. Happy Tuesday! I hope you were able to do all of your remote learning lessons yesterday. I got lots of great pictures and videos from your moms, dads, and grandparents. It was so nice to see you in some of those pictures. You did some amazing work yesterday on your plant drawing and labeling. I loved the patterns you were able to come up with. I think my favorite thing, though, was reading all of your different endings for 'The Tiny Seed'. You were very creative, and some of you had some wonderful details. Have fun working on your lessons again today. I'll be thinking of you, as always.

Day 9 and Counting!

It doesn't seem possible that this is only the 9th day that I haven't been able to teach my first graders! It feels like it has been so much longer. I want to thank all of my parents who have sent me photos and videos of their children - a.k.a. my first graders. They have definitely brightened my days. It's so good to see each of them and know that they are healthy and safe. 

On Monday, March 30th, I will begin posting daily remote assignments for my students. Please check my blog each morning to find out what your child will be working on for the day. I will work to have the assignments posted before 8:00 a.m. each morning. Thank you for supporting your child as we all make our way through these uncertain times. We will all get through this if we continue to work together.
