Dear Almost Second Graders,

Good morning. Happy Friday! Thank you for working so hard on your remote learning lessons this week. I know how hard it is to focus on your work when the weather starts getting warmer. So I really appreciate how hard you have been working and focusing on your lessons.
Today you are going to be taking a quiz. Do you remember what a quiz is? Another word for a quiz is a test. You are going to be quizzed to see what you learned about the 5 senses. Good luck!
Today is Friday, and it is computer lab day for us. Mrs. Stone has a special message for all of her students.

"Hi, Mrs. Stone here! I need you to do something for me, and it's really important! Please go to my blog and read my message for this weeks project. This is one that I can't do by myself, so I need your help....ALL OF YOU! And you will want to be a part of it because it's going to be so neat, so just take a few minutes to check it out! Thanks for your help!"

Dear Almost Second Graders,

Good morning. Happy Wednesday! I never did get my lawn mowed yesterday! But I got my beans planted this morning. Hopefully this weekend I'll get my other vegetables planted. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Just think - at the end of next week you will officially be second graders! It's so hard for me to believe. It seems like you just walked through my classroom on the first day of school! But I know you are ready for the challenges that second grade will have for you.
I hope you enjoy listening to/reading 'Big Smelly Bear' today. It's a really cute story with a really good lesson that everyone should learn.

Today you'll be listening to/reading a story by one of my favorite Maine authors, Lynne Plourde. I got to meet her when she visited CDS in 2007. But I don't think she had written this particular story at that time. It's about a lot of special places in Maine that she's visited. I bet you all have special places in Maine that you like to visit, too. I can't wait to hear all about your'at one' places when I tsalk with you on Tuesday.
Today is Friday, so please visit Mrs. Stone's site to see what she has for you to work on.

Remote Learning Lessons - May 19, 2020

Dear First Graders,

Good morning. Happy Tuesday! I hope you all enjoyed the gorgeous weather yesterday. I got outside and planted some flowers and took my mom's dog for several walks. I did have to wear my 'bug jacket' so I wouldn't be chewed alive, though! We have a lot of bugs at my house!
Today you get to listen to/read 'Make Way for Ducklings' by Robert McCloskey. He also wrote the story you listened to yesterday - 'Blueberries for Sal'. If you have never heard 'Make Way for Ducklings',  you are in for a treat. Listen carefully so you can figure out the problem in the story,  and how the problem gets solved. That will be your writing assignment today.
Today is Tuesday, and we would have music with Mrs. Miller. Please check out her blog and have fun singing.

http://centerdrivemusic.weebly.com/grades-k-4.html

Also check out Mrs. Ludden's site to see what she has planned for you today.

https://centerdriveguidance.weebly.com/first-grade

If you watched Mrs. Ludden read last week, you may not want to click on the link as she's reading the same story this week. But you can certainly listen to it again if you choose to!

Have fun learning today!

   Miss Gray
